This 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. workshop is designed to give people an intensive one day experience to broaden their on-water kayak skills and make them a safer paddler. We will work on building efficient strokes, kayak maneuvering along with group rescues. Basic kayaking safety gear, paddling gear, and handling your kayak will be covered. It is an ideal day spent to prepare for the Paddlesport Safety Facilitator certification and the Community Paddlesport Leader.
Please come prepared with lunch, drinking water and appropriate clothing for immersion: quick dry layers (no cotton), a wetsuit if you have it and any kayaking gear of your own. Meet up by 8:30 am at Camp Torenta on Lake Mitchell in Cadillac, Michigan.
