Costa Rica Anyone? Pura Vida!
This multi-sport adventure is built to suit each group of travelers. We start out with a basic structure that we can build around of some surf play, whitewater adventure and hiking. We can add in visits to spice and coffee farms, scuba diving, sport fishing, canyoneering…the options are nearly endless. In short, this is a curated, bespoke kind of program. No two are alike.
Our local partner in this program is Costa Rica Explorers, co-owned by Jake Weigandt, who also works with us in our Great Lakes programs. Designed to give you an authentic Costa Rican Pura Vida experience, it is based in the Pacific coastal surf town of Dominical. You’ll wake up to birdcalls, the sounds of Howler and Whiteface monkeys, and the low thump of surf down on the beach below your porch. Some days, we’ll be off early to an adventure, but we’ll also have a fair bit of non-structured time planned in so you can wander on the sand, sit in the shade under an almond tree or rent a boogie board and go get tired in a good way. Meals are mixed between our lodging location (La Parcela…great restaurant), some free range in Dominical and some fun ones while out on adventure, all fresh and Tico style. We will pay for 3 days of activities, others are on your own. Activities that are included are whitewater rafting, a Waterfall tour, and a surf lesson. Tours to a spice and chocolate farm, wildlife hikes, Snorkeling trips, Canyoneering, Waterfall hikes, fishing trips can all be arranged for you for your free-range days with advance notice at extra cost, which is variable depending on options. You’ll find that want some free time built in.
We specialize in small group travel. This trip needs a minimum of 6 people with a maximum of 8. Families are welcome – please contact us.
