You’ll get some experience and expand your skills with navigation, tidal currents and surf in a small group setting that is designed for maximal learning.

Enjoy a long weekend at my home on 40 acres of hardwoods along the beautiful Betsie River for a retreat that will teach you safe, effective and efficient kayaking skills while enjoying kayaking in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore area.
Based near Traverse City, Michigan, this immersive ACA Instructor Training program uses multiple venues and varied conditions, including moving water, to develop confident, adaptable instructors. With a 1:3 instructor-to-student ratio, a wide variety of kayaks and rescue gear, and food provided, expect personalized training, plenty of hands-on learning, hard work, hearty meals, and a lot of fun.
