This experience is next in our series of Pinnacle Expeditions…the SE Alaska trip that WE would want to do! A remote kayak camping program based out of Sitka, easily reached via Seattle. With 9 backcountry days, there is enough time for flexibility, fishing, foraging, photos and wildlife interaction. Bookended by two nights premium lodging in Sitka prior and one night after, this trip is suitable for those with Level 3 and up skills that are comfortable with backcountry camping.

This new American Canoe Association Paddlesports Guide Certification is the most current multi-day guide certification available. The rocky Coastline of the Keweenaw peninsula allows for Level 3+ conditions, crossings, logistics planning, group management, campcraft, cooking and a solid foundation for guiding work during this 5 day program. Costs will be kept reasonable. Limited availability.

In many ways this trip is similar to our Explorer trip, but this is MORE exploratory. Paddling skills for this will be on par with the Explorer option, but this trip is longer, with more flexible camping options and range further from our start point. Where we will get to and how long we spend in each place is based on weather... and whether we want to move or stay. Think flexible, fun, and more ambitious. This can be used as a Level 4 Skills Training with optional Assessment, if so desired.
Want more experience in rough conditions but without the dread of very icy water? Our answer to that is an adult break that won’t break the bank! You’ll get some experience and expand your skills with navigation, tidal currents and surf in a small group setting that is designed for maximal learning.
