Pinnacle Adventures

After 40 years of collecting experiences and relationships around the world, I thought the best way to share these experiences was to offer some one-off adventures that are longer, more in-depth and something to aspire to. These are the kayak expeditions that you always wished you could do. This last season’s Pinnacle Expedition was Greenland and inspired this series. This next season will see us back in Sitka, Alaska to share this amazing rainforest coast on an 11-day trip. These small group trips (6 participant max) will be carefully curated around teams that we feel would truly enjoy each other and add to the experience. We have one space left for next June’s trip from Sitka. Look for Pinnacle trips to Isle Royale (10 days),Tasmania, and Shetland in the future.

    SE Alaska’s Otter Coast Rainforest Expedition

    This experience is next in our series of Pinnacle Expeditions…the SE Alaska trip that WE would want to do! A remote kayak camping program based out of Sitka, easily reached via Seattle. With 9 backcountry days, there is enough time for flexibility, fishing, foraging, photos and wildlife interaction. Bookended by two nights premium lodging in Sitka prior and one night after, this trip is suitable for those with Level 3 and up skills that are comfortable with backcountry camping.

    In many ways this trip is similar to our Explorer trip, but this is MORE exploratory. Paddling skills for this will be on par with the Explorer option, but this trip is longer, with more flexible camping options and range further from our start point. Where we will get to and how long we spend in each place is based on weather... and whether we want to move or stay. Think flexible, fun, and more ambitious. This can be used as a Level 4 Skills Training with optional Assessment, if so desired.

  • Shetland Islands: Pinnacle Adventure Summer 2027
